Sandblasted Apple (B) Tobacco Pipe

Max Rimensi of Il Duca crafts two straight Apple designs which I immediately recognize as his, a lengthy pencil-shanked version and this plump, flared-shank rendition. Reassuring in hand, it boasts a crisp sandblast around a quite rotund bowl, with a much lower-profile sandblast offering an excellent surface for thumb draping on the shank. I quite like the transition, which he has put extra work into setting deep into for pronounced cheeking and impeccable linework, and the green accent at the shank end offers visual contrast and a nice pipe of color. A no-nonsense tapered vulcanite stem tops things off without distracting from the stummel, and, all things considered, it promises to be an elegant, trustworthy companion for all of your pipe-smoking adventures.
