About This Pipe

Henri Sørensen studied pipe making under Jens "Tao" Nielsen, Tom Eltang, and Lasse Skovgaard, and still takes a great amount of influence from these titans of Danish pipe making. A Dane himself, Henri originally worked as a glazier before turning to pipes, and has very much developed his own style that is complemented by his knowledge of the Danish school and its distinct traits.

This Billiard from Henri is fronted by a lightly-tapered bowl, with the stummel sandblasted to emphasize growth rings on the right flank of the bowl and birdseye on the left flank. A dark stain gives the stummel a sleek appearance before it reaches back to a green accent and a vulcanite stem that flares lightly outward before tapering to the bit. That playful contrast gives the pipe a distinctive character, allowing it to stand out even among examples of one of the most common pipe shapes.
