About This Pipe

Crafting pipes since 2007, Chris Asteriou is a skilled Greek artisan with a background in industrial design and architecture. Originally known for his traditional Anglo-French style, Asteriou eventually ventured into the realm of Danish and Japanese pipe designs. This Pickaxe is a classic example of the former, with its timeless angular profile and check-mark silhouette paying homage to the shape-chart standard. Despite measuring over seven inches in length, this pipe maintains a lightweight disposition, making this an ideal piece for travel and on-the-go smoking. Up front, the bowl cants forward as its walls rise from a sharply pointed heel and flare to a subtly domed rim that looks into a respectable tobacco chamber. A tightly-knit transition gives way to an abbreviated, high-kicking shank that quickly connects to an accent of horn that flares toward its face. Protruding from said accent is a lengthy vulcanite stem that takes up the majority of the aft's visual weight as it bends toward the bit. The inky mouthpiece pairs well to the hues of the dark sandblasted stummel, highlighting impressive growth rings throughout, save for the rim which is finished smooth and covered in birdseye.
