About This Pipe
Nicely sized at almost six inches, this Billiard from Jess Chonowitsch is the epitome of understated elegance. The shank is oval and the bowl is bordering on Brandy-ish. The light, warm stain highlights the stummel, which is sandblasted with nice horizontal lines of grain and birdseye at the heel. The rim is smooth and gently rounded, the stem a study in the perfection of angles. The curvature of the bowl and the transition from bowl to shank have clear Danish heritage, while the proportions hearken to English classicism. Everyone loves Billiards, or should, at least, and here is one of the best in the world.
