About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops. Graded four C's out of a possible five, this bent Billiard certainly showcases Cavicchi's skill for reading the briar.
In terms of shaping, this is quite a distinctive take on the classic shape, featuring a towering, backward-slanting bowl with a particularly muscular heel and a crown of craggy plateau. Said bowl is paired to an abbreviated, tapered shank, which is in turn met by a downturned saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. A smooth, glossy, honey-blonde finish dresses the stummel, accentuating the streaks of flame and tight curlicues of birdseye that earned this pipe its impressive CCCC grade.
