About This Pipe
While he was born in Belgium, Bruno Nuttens has resided in France for nearly 20 years. He started his pipe-making career by restoring estate pipes while crafting some of his own in his spare time, and with the assistance and advice of pipe maker Pierre Morel, Nuttens was later able to accrue the skills and equipment to propel his career. Nuttens' portfolio features both traditionally-inclined pieces and more expressive designs, with the former showcased here in this handsome Billiard rendition. Part of the French artisan's Handmade line, this Billiard from Bruno Nuttens is brimming with classic Anglo-French appeal thanks to its well-measured design. A pert, upright bowl stands at the fore of the composition, formed by sturdy walls rising from the rounded heel and showing a slight taper near the rim. Transitioning from the bowl is a proportionally balanced shank and gradually tapering stem, the latter of which is adorned with a band of genuine horn at its base. The stummel is dressed in a rugged, natural rustication, the virgin finish granting this pipe the potential to develop a fine patina over time as it's smoked and enjoyed.
