About This Pipe
Headed by Jimmy Craig, English workshop Ashton primarily crafts pipes of a timeless, classical style, often elevated by stems of signature brindled vulcanite and fitments of elegant silver. A Billiard instantly reminiscent of the Anglo-French shape-chart standard, this piece boasts a sleek shank-and-stem combination that does well to balance the visual weight of the bowl. Said combination comprises a trim, round stretch of briar that's met with a black vulcanite saddle stem whose sleek bit places further visual emphasis on the bowl, while a broad silver band accents the junction. Up front, the bowl stands atop a rounded heel and boasts a slight taper up toward the rim, its walls offering plenty of space to showcase the crisp, earthy sandblast of the Pebble Grain series.
