About This Pipe
A full-bodied, forward-urging bowl defines this bent Egg from Alexander Hasty, with the shaping aesthetics here indicative of Danish inspiration on American pipe design. Muscular and compact of form, the stummel is also gently curvaceous and softly lined. The bowl offers plenty of chamber depth, while the slightly rising, stout shank is adorned with a trim band of white Ivorite before the domed saddle stem of ebonite tops things off. The stummel is dressed in a handsome tanblast which shows off the briar's rich grain patterns and should darken with use and time as it patinates. A comfortable pipe to hold, particularly given its voluptuous disposition, this is a fine piece by the American carver.
