About This Pipe

Looking back on some of Jeff's earlier Egg shapes, it's hard to place any of these shapes into a Gracik canon, so to speak. Some have been compact and stout with thick transitions and muscular proportions. Others have been elegant and reserved, pairing a plump bowl with a flaring Ivarsson-esque teardrop. Then you have compositions like this: a tall bowl with a fair bit of plumpness to its mid-waist, a well-defined, slim transition, and an upward sweeping, four-knuckle bamboo extension lengthening the form up to one of Jeff's signature trim bits. While the finishes can vary as well, this one is presented in a smoky contrast and crisp blast, with both a fair display of rings and blasted birdseye, as well as a column of tight, sweeping cross-grain breaching the surface. Have we seen one like it? No. Will we ever again? Well, I wouldn't take any chances.
