Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Bakelite (581) Tobacco Pipe

I'm not one to judge others' preferences, but if this bent Dublin from Micah "Yeti" Cryder doesn't impress you or satiate some deep, inner, aesthetic yearning, then I admit to questioning your tastes. This pipe may not cater to your personal pipe inclinations, regarding size and shape and the like, but to deny the inherent aesthetic beauty of line, form, and palette of this piece is to blind oneself to art.

My waxing poetic may come across as hyperbole, but I honestly do love everything about this pipe. First of all, it's compact (a personal preference of mine), and while the bowl is hearty and substantial, the deeply bent S-curve will ensure a comfortable smoking posture and balanced weight distribution. Secondly, the shaping is sublime and emblematic of Micah's personal style — the fore of the bowl and shank's underside sweeping through the heel in a perfect parabola, while the stem's quick downward turn represents one of Cryder's oft-seen designs cues. Lastly, but certainly not least, the finish and color palette demand praise and attention: Intersecting horizontal and vertical grain striations create a sandblasted plaid patchwork across the bowl, and the ebony stain ensures the eye-popping, fiery hues of the Bakelite stem are not overlooked.
