Smooth Bent Dublin with Horn (Kikuchi) (F) (124) Tobacco Pipe

On one hand, like the last Kikuchi-made Ikebana bent Dublin we saw, this one also sports a long ferrule of horn between a fairly short shank and a turned-base saddle stem. Moving forward of all that however, things are about as different as they can be. Where the previous Dublin focused on a very, very vertical style of bowl, this number is forward, emphasizing the horizontal. Likewise, while the earlier Dublin was very direct, with a sheer taper and a pretty flat rim, here Kikuchi went with a great swelling roll, curving and calling to mind the motion of a crashing wave.
