About This Pipe
Leveraging a background in woodworking and a keen eye for detail, Trey Rice crafts gorgeous pipes that draw on American, Danish, and English shaping traditions, but are singularly his own in execution. This Acorn boasts a rather unique, Danish-like outline, offering soft, supple curves and an organic character that immediately captures the eye. Up front, a plump bowl stands atop a firm, narrow heel and grows gently contoured walls that rise to a broad, rounded rim. Said bowl houses a capacious chamber within its bold frame, ensuring plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. A wide transition marks the start of a trim shank extended by three knuckles of warm bamboo. This bamboo is evenly spaced and fosters a visual rhythm across the pipe's aft, from the aforementioned transition to the shoulders of a demurely curved saddle stem. A crisp, ruby-hued sandblast dresses the ensemble and draws out rippling growth rings across the bowl's flanks.
