Smooth Blowfish with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe

Though imbued with a more tightly-knit form than previous renditions we've seen, this piece still exudes that architectural, structured disposition Sam Cui seems to enjoy imparting into the Blowfish shape. We enjoy seeing it too, and it really sets Sam apart from the fold of organically-inclined, naturalesque Blowfish renditions we've become accustomed to. Those livelier numbers have their place to be sure, but the juxtaposition of flaring, paneled shank with a poised, crisp-lined bowl makes for something of distilled presentation, even when lent a subtle degree of asymmetry. The handsome walnut stain and lighter boxwood mount keep the palette quite warm and affable, too.
