About This Pipe

Henri Sørensen, like many artisan pipe makers, found his way into the craft through a love of pipe smoking — a passion he shared with his brother. With a background as a glazier, Sørensen had long appreciated traditional craftsmanship and working with his hands. That foundation naturally led him to carve his own pipe. Inspired by Denmark's rich pipe-making legacy, he pays homage to the great Danish masters while expressing a distinct style that is uniquely his, blending tradition with personal flair.

This Acorn brilliantly showcases Sørensen's distinctive style, which prioritizes sleek lines, refined finishing, and thoughtful use of accenting materials. Up front, a plump, full-bodied bowl stands atop a conservative, pointed heel and grows thick walls that flare to a broad, plateau-flecked rim. A crisp, angled transition follows the bowl and leads into an upturned shank that flares gently into a short, compact saddle stem — gracefully poised for comfortable smoking. The stem meets the shank at a junction accented with vibrant boxwood, which adds a touch of warmth to the overall composition. A rich, smooth finish completes the composition, highlighting striking tendrils of flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
