About This Pipe
Henri Sorensen always appreciated old-school craftsmanship, and like many pipe makers, he began his journey as a simple smoker. Henri originally got into the world of pipe making as a glazier, eventually crafting his own pieces with the guidance of some of Denmark's prolific artisans, such as Tom Eltang, Erick Nielsen, and Lasse Skovgaard. This Apple brilliantly showcases Sørensen's distinctive style, characterized by sleek lines, crisp sandblasts, and carefully chosen accent materials. The bowl rests on a rounded heel, its walls featuring a plump, low-set waist that gracefully tapers forward toward the rim, creating a supple curvature that fits comfortably in the hand. The wide transition offers ample space for a comfortable grip, leading to a subtly flaring shank that meets a vulcanite saddle stem at a junction accented by a thick band of orange osage. The stummel's dark sandblast further enhances the piece, revealing rippling growth rings that gracefully rise along the bowl's flanks before concluding at the warm, smoothly polished rim.
