This one is really growing on me. Like all C & D tobaccos this is best sipped gently and slowly, so the Burley doesn’t get overpowered by the rest. Stays consistent throughout the bowl and won’t misbehave. Should get better with age. A Solid 4.5 Stars from me.

filled a pipe from the 7/26 blend. Thinking it was a jar of Exclusive; which I also received three pounds of. Upon lighting it I could tell it was not Exclusive. And it was then that I realized I had instead filled the pipe with 7/26 Tuggle Hall. I am updating, AGAIN, only to say "do yourself a favor and do not smoke, nor rate, Tuggle Hall without aging it some. Tuggle Hall from 2024 = Great! Tuggle Hall from 2026 = Below Average. (*Updated* June 2026) - Bumping this from 4.0★ to 5.0★ today, and I've moved its link/bookmark from my 'good' folder to the 'best' folder for being one of the most congenial blends I've had to date. This is good in nearly all of my pipes (best when in one of my Savi. 230's) and has become one I want and reach for often. I just keep wanting to smoke it throughout the day. (*Original Review*) Upon its arrival (16 oz bag) I am noticing its production date is Aug. '24 on the little "date-sticker" and is slightly dry. After a few bowls, though, I can say I do like how it tastes in most of my pipes; probably because I do enjoy Burley in blends. The Burley is forefront, it is mildly sweet...and it's more sweet than peppery. So the "%" of perique, in this, is likely a single digit. There are other flavors that peak at times...making it interesting and keeping my attention. So yeah, as stated in the title; "it's good but" it is sadly a touch dry...yet fixable. n with black speckles - in a bowl for photographing it looked like a chocolate chip cookie. The components are Burley, Latakia and Perique.
Sampled in a NEW MM Missouri Pride.
This bad boy has some "OOOMMPH!" from the get-go - Nice.
Is it an English, or is it a badass don't take no names while kicking ass Burley? Either way it is a nice woody spicy smoke. It's almost like taking a sip of Oban Scotch while sitting across the yard from a campfire.
Thick white smoke that carries on with the campfire vibe, I swear it's got Dark Fired Kentucy in there somewhere. I mean, I guess a sprinkling of DFK could fly under the radar as just "Burley" but it's got some kind of special thing going on either way . What's tripping me up here is when I research i see "white burley " which I rated a 2 - is it that the latakia and perique are blended in such a way they imitate the DFK I want so badly to identify here, and the white burley is just a medium to round out and carry them?
Either way - I am going to order some. And by "some" I mean a pound. And probably make a note to order another pound in 6 months. I think this is great fresh - but my gut says, " if you are patient, you will be rewarded".
I already have plans to take this winter camping. Good stuff indeed.

matrix or substrate, framing and rounding out the pairing. It burns super cool, no bite, lots of flavor, medium-full in body. I did need a few relights and had to drain the gurgle a few times, but at the end of the session my bowl was left bone-dry with no moisture. And there wasn't any heel or dottle, just a fine grey ash. Finally, without virginia one might expect a powerfully pungent room note but, quite the opposite, the burley makes it very inviting. Tuggle Hall is NOT fancy, it's not sophisticated, it's not innovating or breaking new ground -- instead, it feels like kicking off your shoes and putting your feet up at the end of a long work week. It's an unpretentious take-me-as-I-am comfort blend that doesn't take a gourmand's refined palate to enjoy. I don't think I can say anymore than to say that if you like Haunted Bookshop, and you like Latakia, this is a must try. People call it simple, and the recipe may be, but the flavors are very complex and perfectly harmonized. This is a major sleeper.
