Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear Bourbon Cask 2oz
Sun bear!
Very good stuff. Not much point in making a huge review on something that’s already gone but is very delicious. After rubbing out it’s Definitely obvious that the Seattle pipe club equipment was used dosent look anything like C&D it looks 100% like Seattle pipe club. why do that? Never liked that thick cut SPC that’s why I never buy SPC stuff.

Capstan - Flake Blue 1.75oz
Champagne of VA
I was a bit hesitant to try this blend just because of the price really. I thought the fad of what it is effected the price and I’m still sure that has a lot to do with it. But now that I’m sitting here smoking it I can appreciate the quality of this blend. If it didn’t cost so much I’d honestly probably smoke this almost every day. For now I’ll look at more as a special occasion blend. Flavor is grassy with some light spice, mild sweetness. Maybe a hint of ketchup. It’s very good tobacco but nobody is wrong thinking the price is to high.

G. L. Pease - Regents Flake 2oz
Fresh tin
Dang. Wish I got sooner. Flavorful notes of sweet breads, oatmeal raisin, honey gram crackers, some very slight orange zest, with some spices, and floral qualities. Can’t wait to open a tin that’s got a few years on it.

Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - B. J. Long Pipe Cleaners - Regular (56 pack)
It’s a pipe cleaner
Yes they do shed some, yes one end is always bent. It still does it’s job and does it well. Just stick the unbent side in the pipe and move on.

Savinelli - Alligator Red (673 KS) (6mm)
A good pipe
I do like this pipe I smoke it often. It smokes good it looks good. Doesn’t clench the best but still a good pipe.

Cornell & Diehl - Midnight Orchard 2oz
Unexpected Orchard
When I cracked the tin I was worried I might not like this one. Tin note was pretty strong and my first thought was will I even taste the tobacco. I was surprised and delighted at how subtle the flavoring was when I started smoking. It’s definitely a sweet and spicy kind of deal with a pretty wide range of tasting notes. Enjoying it more and more as I get farther into the bowl.

Savinelli - 150th Anniversary Capri (315 KS)
Good shape
I love the shape of this pipe. It’s elegant and very comfortable. My only complaint is there is a strong chemical taste that ruins my tobacco. I’m really hoping it goes away after I Break it in. Iv never had this problem before so who knows.

Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
Nice!
Right out the gate the flakes look perfect. They are pretty wet so definitely want dry time with this one. Flavor is not what I was expecting. When I hear juicy fruit I’m thinking super sweet but it’s subtle and stays there throughout the whole bowl. Very nice could smoke this on the regular.

Samuel Gawith - Full Virginia Flake 50g
Makes you think
Wanted to try this for so long. Finally got my hands on it and sat on it for 2 years before trying. At first light it seems like it’s trying to bite. Kind of spicy in the nose. As it burns it starts to mellow and I get some tea, bread, very subtle citrus, and rose. After hearing about this blend for so many years I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed but I might have been expecting something with a bit more wow. I can say there are definitely Virginia’s out there way better then this so I wouldn’t drive yourself crazy thinking your missing out

Cornell & Diehl - Opening Night 2oz
Easy everyday smoke
This blend is not loud, it’s not in your face but there is a purity that come with its simplicity. Very Smooth blend with a sort of creaminess to it. Notes of cereal like grape nuts with some sugar sprinkled on top, some very light lemon, hay, and tea. Honey graham crackers I can definitely agree with. And like I said smooth the smoothness is very pleasant. An easy smoke that will definitely be an everyday blend for me from now on.

Cornell & Diehl - Steamworks 2oz
Smoothness
Just popped a tin and tried for the first time. my tin was around 2 years of age. This is a fine tobacco blend. There is a smooth buttery texture to the smoke with flavors of bread with butter a dash of brown sugar some caramel, very slight orange peel and some spice. It does burn slow and the flavors definitely pop more with a slow cadence. So take your time and really enjoy this one.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Evening Flake
All day flake!
So glad I got this. It’s a perfect blend for everyday smoking, inexpensive but still has flavor. some similarities to Orlik but the perique is more noticeable. Flavor comes with some sweet hay, dates and even faint marshmallow and I mean that in a natural way. The flakes are very nice and they break up really well when rubbed out. Also thinking this has very good aging potential.

Samuel Gawith - 1792 Flake 50g
Very nice.
First time smoking this blend. It’s a cool, slightly rainy night and I think that works well for this. Wouldn’t think of this as a middle of the summer blend. I can tell it’s got some strength and the flavor in my opinion is a bit more on the festive side. Notes of vanilla, allspice, clove, maybe even a tiny bit of chocolate. I don’t agree with people that say it tastes like a cigar. This taste like a quality pipe tobacco. But again the strength is there so I wouldn’t consider this an all day blend I’d say a very nice evening blend.

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
So good!
I’m not a huge fan of aromatics, but this stuff tastes awesome and it’s not crazy wet and goopy like some aromatics. It tastes like pancakes with butter and maple syrup. The flavor stays through the whole bowl. On top of that when I lit it my wife kept looking over at me and finally said that smells really good. Can’t beat that!

G. L. Pease - Ellipsis Flake 2oz
Good but not wow
The tin note is totally amazing but the smoke is not what I was expecting. So far I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. I agree with others that say summer blend. I’m gonna have to smoke this more to get a better idea but first time out the gate I’m not blown away by it. Quick update I’ve been smoking this just to free up the jar and I will say I am liking it more and more. It’s sweet, grassy, citrusy, touch of spice. Not mad that I have more tins to put away for a few years.

Samuel Gawith - Kendal Cream Flake 50g
Wild stuff
This is a different smoke at least for me. The flavor really hits on the retro and has a lot to pick out. For me it’s like a buttery flower with orange zest and maybe a dash of absinthe.

Mac Baren - Burley: London Blend 3.5oz
Awesome!
This is really good! The tin note was strong chocolate, surprisingly it’s a little more mild on the smoke but still very much noticeable. So glad I have a couple tins!

Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Love it.
I can see why it comes out in the fall. This is a festive blend I can see it going amazing with a hot toddy. I think the description is spot on no need for me to explain any further. Really good stuff!

Cornell & Diehl - Sansepolcro 2oz
Very nice
It’s hard to describe this one. It’s got a little spice, it’s got slight floral notes, sweet hay, bread, slight citrus . Not getting the clove but everyone is different. And as you get into the bowl about a quarter or even less. It mellows but not too much. It’s pleasant and perfect for an early fall evening for me but at the same time I wouldn’t say it wows me.

Wessex - Burley Slice 50g
Perfect
This blend is amazing I could probably smoke it every day if it was more readily available. At first I couldn’t tell what it reminded of but now I’m thinking it taste like bob’s chocolate flake with out the Latakia. But that’s just me. Very tasty very enjoyable.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake 50g
A new favorite
I Have put off trying this for years. Why? This is a very enjoyable smoke. It’s like a floral herbal tea with a dash of honey and hint of spice. Smoke it light and slow. In no way does it taste like cigarettes as some have said. I will be getting many more tins of this for sure.

Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear Navy Cask 2oz
Awesome!
Finally cracked a tin. Tin note is sweet maple sort of pecan sandy vibe with some floral notes. The smoke starts sweet with a touch of spice and finishes with a sort of sweet cream. Easily an all day smoke if you had an endless supply. 100% my kind of blend.

Low Country - Pee Dee 2oz
Still thinking
It’s hard to describe this one. The only way I can think of is it’s a more robust briar fox. If briar fox was coffee with cream this is black coffee. I do enjoy it but I wouldn’t think of it as an all day smoke, More of an after dinner smoke.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Bob's Chocolate Flake 50g
Wow
I got a small sample bag of this. normally these days I stay a way from Latakia blends but I figured I’d pack it up. This is a really intriguing smoke. The Lat is very subtle in my opinion and with the the topping it creates a flavor that to me at first does not scream chocolate, the first thing I thought of when I lit it was black clove cigarettes but about a quarter of the way into the bowl the chocolate really shines through. I will definitely get a few tins of this it’s different and very enjoyable.

Cornell & Diehl - Anthology 2023 2oz
Solid Virginia
When I first smoked this I wasn’t sure but after a few times and getting proper dry time down it has opened up. If you give it around 30min dry time the amazing tin note really comes through in the smoke. If your a Virginia fan this is great stuff.

Peterson - University Flake 50g
Surprising
Iv looked at a lot of reviews before getting this. I was worried when I read about the topping it would be more like an aromatic . But I finally bought some and I’m glad i did. The tin note definitely made me second guess buying it but after some dry time, I smoked it anyway and the toppings is much more subtle in the smoke especially about a quarter into the bowl. This is actually enjoyable and don’t regret my decision. If you’ve been thinking about getting it and never do, id say just go for it.

Peterson - Sunset Breeze 50g
My opinion
I’m only putting a review on this to hopefully help others looking to try it. I remember very early into pipe smoking that I really enjoyed this and smoked it all the time. Not the case anymore but if you like heavy aromatics or your new to pipe smoking it might be worth trying. It definitely has a lot of flavor just smoke it slow to avoid tongue bite

Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox 2oz
Finally tried
Not sure why I put this one off for so long. I just popped a tin and now I know I’m gonna need some more to put away a few years. It’s a very chill smoke. I agree with others that say “a good morning smoke” or even “all day.” The flavors are mild but very enjoyable and I’m finding it pairs perfectly with cold brew with a little cream.

Peterson - Nightcap 50g
Strong lat.
This is a smoky blend heavy with Latakia. Nic hits a little strong for someone new to pipe tobacco but nothing too crazy. I think of this as more of a winter blend but that’s just me.

Cornell & Diehl - Eight State Burley 2oz
Cool smoke
I was given a sample bag of this and now I’m wishing I had bought some tins when it was available. It’s a cool smoke, mellow with no bite, yet still strong flavors. Taste similar to almonds with a hint of cocoa. I’ll definitely get 4 or 5 tins if/when it’s available again.

Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear Black Locust 2oz
Well rounded
This is a surprising blend. The tin note is sweet. When you smoke it, the sweetness is much more subtle but it’s there. It leaves the smoke creamy and satisfying. The tobacco’s used definitely bring a complexity that stay from start to finish. If you happen to come across some tins of this don’t pass it up.

G. L. Pease - Maltese Falcon 2oz
Still good
I don’t smoke Latakia anymore but if you’re a Latakia smoker this is a great blend. I use to smoke this pretty regularly at one point so I don’t feel bad recommending it.

Cornell & Diehl - Firebird Flake 2oz
Review
Well someone needs to leave a good review on this blend. I did get a chance to smoke this and it is amazing! Easily in my top five blends. It’s so unique and I can definitely say Iv never tasted a blend I can compare it to. The orientals and the dark fired come together to give a smoke you never want to end. I would give it more stars if it were an option.

Orlik - Golden Sliced 100g
Don’t pass up
Love this. So good fresh and even better with age. never disappoints when I smoke it. Definitely has that grassy natural sweetness you would expect in a Virginia

Peterson - My Mixture 965 50g
Good blend
This is such a good blend. Haven’t smoked Latakia in maybe two years but I keep this one on hand just incase I get a craving. I would recommend this if by some chance you haven’t tried it.

Mac Baren - HH Pure Virginia 3.5oz
A fine Virginia
A very enjoyable Virginia. Not a tin I reach for all the time but when I do, I usually don’t want the bowl to end.

Cornell & Diehl - Carolina Red Flake with Perique 2oz
Perfect
One of my favorites I only have a few tins of this left so I try not to smoke it to often but if I had and endless supply, I’d smoke it every day. It’s a perfect vapor for me.

Low Country - Atalaya 2oz
Good smoke
Atalaya is a great blend and an even better smoke. The ratio of each tobacco in my opinion is spot on. I reach for this more often than not. If you’ve been thinking about trying it, do yourself a favor and get a tin.

Peterson - Flake 50g
A must have
This has been a favorite for a long time. Sweet flavors of hay and bread hit very well. Definitely one for the cellar.

Cornell & Diehl - Bluegrass 2oz
A new favorite
Don’t hesitate. This stuff has got good spice and the flavor of a smoked meat and leather stands out. I really could smoke this every day.

G. L. Pease - Cairo 2oz
Spicy
This is good stuff. I’ll admit I didn’t appreciate it the first time I tried it. Now I’m singing a different tune. The orientals really stand out and with the help of the Virginia and Perique it’s a very enjoyable sweet and spicy smoke. I recommend getting a tin and allow it to get some age to it.

Peterson - Elizabethan Mixture 50g
Good VaPer
Elizabethan is just a good well rounded consistent VaPer. An easy all day smoke that doesn’t require much tending to in order to stay lit. A good blend to have in your stock pile.

A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Can’t go wrong
Escudo is easily one of my favorite smokes. It’s good fresh or with age on it. That being said I would still get extra tins to hide away for a few years. I would definitely recommend this blend.
