One flake, torn in half and stuffed/folded, ragged side up into a trusty old Deluxe Milano billiard, is just right for a long, slow, easy smoke. Stays lit during the occasional pause and tastes great the rest of the time. I’m a recent flake convert and that format has advantages. This example is proof positive of a well married blend with good flavor and aroma. The burning characteristic is a big plus. I’ve almost always fought with ribbon cut just to keep it lit but not this stuff. It’s a bit easier than cube cut to handle. I like it and can’t find fault with it at all....Read More

This stuff is wonderful. It’s fruity, spicy…darker/richer than others due to the hot-pressing I assume. I prefer this over Orlik and Escudo. For me, Peterson’s Navy Rolls are #1 and Evening Flake is #2. I have yet to try Stokkebye’s Luxury Navy Flake due to finding this stuff. I’ll eventually get around to trying others, but this is perfect for every day. Definitely a winner and is going to age exceptionally....Read More

If you remember The Mallard flake w/perique from Dan Tobacco, this blend is VERY similar to it, i suspect they use the same Rhodesian VAs that DTM is known for. Excellent quality leaf, expertly blended; clean brights with no casings or toppings and a generous dose of perique. Good looking flakes, ready to be smoked right off the bag. This is like Orlik but you can taste the perique, yet it's still not too spicy. It is perfect. Just to let you know, I'm not like all these other rubes who give everything 5 stars even if it's lacking. It really has to earn that last star for me. This is truly the best bulk va/per. PS400 would take the top spot if you didn't have to age it a year to get rid of the bitterness. What makes a va/per great for me is not only the sweetness, but the smoothness. This?
