Oliva - Cuba Aliados by E.P. Carrillo Robusto
Lightly Delicious
This could probably be said for many cigars, but this is a great walking stick. It's Saturday and the day before I fell victim to a very bad entry in the stock market. However. We live, we lick our wounds and we move on. We Don't Dwell On Bullshit! I may have lost, but a cigar isn't only for a job well done. It's time to reflect, to think, to analyze. To bring yourself back! This was a much needed cigar and my God did it bring me back. Now I'm ready to face a new week and contemplate my failure. Learn from the mistakes I made and make a great comeback. Much like this cigar. This cigar was a light cup of straight black coffee, just the way I like it. Some chocolate blended in there with every puff and a touch of cedar to round it off. This cigar was so good I didn't want to put it down as the notes intensified melding everything together and becoming a little more spicy towards the end. With limited time this 5in cigar was perfect on a foggy night with only a few neighbors front lights illuminating the hazy view in a spectrum of light just enough to find my way back and come full circle.

Coffee. Straight black dark coffee. This one may of been older, I found it at the bottom of my humidor, but I've been waiting for so time to try this one so it might of been off. I wasn't really getting anything else and usually I get chocolate with my coffee, but this one was just a black black dark bitter hot delicious cup of coffee ☕️. I almost couldn't put it down. I smoked quite a bit of it past the band. I just couldn't get any other tasting notes and kept catching some ashtrayness that was a turn off. Buying some fresh ones soon and revisiting.
NUB - Maduro 464 Torpedo
Nudge My Nub
I love finding the taste of coffee in my dark cigars. Some people love going to Dunkin Donuts, some love Starbucks. Some people love to grind their own beans, some love roasting them. Me? I'll buy the donkey transporting the bags! This cigar was the closest to a beautiful cup of coffee I've had yet. I kept smacking my lips together to make it last and thought I just took a sip. It was light, the whole cigar was light and satisfying from beginning to end and very easy to get lost in the smoke. I wondered if angel food cake came in chocolate cause it was just the lightest touch. That and a little bit of amaretto. What a great cigar for a winter night. 4x64, smoked great, perfect duration and easy to keep lit.

Mulligan!
This one almost got a 3.5 The draw was pretty tight and I'm sure I took enough cap off, but I started out not liking the shape of this stogie to begin with. However! At the point, about five minutes in, I had had enough and went full 80's action movie and BIT THE END OFF! Actually cigars are pretty resilient and doing that is not easy. What i did do is crushed it just enough to open up the airflow and damn did that turn things around! Light from the beginning and of course with the chocolate notes the retrohale gave up some spiced rum influence and stone fruits. It was a quick sweet little stick that I would love to have again. Perfect for these SEPA cold nights. Leave the bibs inside, this didn't take long at all, but still hit the spot.

A Nice Cup Of Coffee
I just couldn't get over how much a cup of Joe this tasted like. I kept going to it and thinking "what else can I say about this cigar?" I was just surrounded with thoughts of coffee ☕️. It was late and another mid teens night. Cold crisp and that glass cutting chill in the air. I had to put my bibs on and three jackets just to last 25/30 minutes. The first 3/4" was spicy chocolate and later mellowed out to that smooth coffee with chocolate in the background and spices found on the retrohale. Looking up at the night sky finding Jupiter I was reminded... I might look a lot less silly standing in the middle of the cul-de-sac if I had my telescope out, but I didn't care cause I had my delicious cup of coffee on a stick an just enjoyed the rest of my cigar. God I love Oscuro wrappers.
Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
They Did It Again!
Warped has done it again. Making a pipe tobacco with flavor throughout without sacrificing the natural Virginia tobacco leaf. These tins, Scarecrow being the other one, have really made a place on my shelf and in my rotation. I love pipe tobacco where you can say "its an aro that smokes like a Virginia" or "a Virginia that smokes like an aro." Its a smoke that a lot people can settle in and enjoy a while. Forgetting about the last hour or so and maybe getting deep in thought. I love coffee and I love that the small sips I take off my pipe while a slight French inhale as I retrohale keeping that faint whisp of smoke hanging around my senses and enveloping myself in memories of old coffee houses and pipe shops. The espresso is there through the entire session and its not hard at all to search for some chocolate that melts into cream. The room note has been a crowd pleaser for sure with enough strength to hit all the right levels. The added cigar is what really separates this from others as it gives an "Ooooo" moment, if only for a moment, that makes you think you just found a hidden secret. Warped will always have a place on my shelf.
My Father - La Opulencia Petite
Going For A Stroll? Take One Of These
Well the storm finally came. Mostly sleet now and mid teens, but nothing a golf umbrella couldn't fix as I went for a walk. Mid strength, light chocolate and creamy. Actually I'd say a nice light cup of coffee with cream. I thought I got some citrus, but the 16 degrees weather could have something to do with that. Still a great smoke on a walk through the neighborhood as nobody was coming out today just made it more surreal as ice fell in absolute quiet and I was able to drift with the snow as the wind blew with not a care in the world. Another puff and I'm back thinking about how a cup of coffee will hit the spot when I get home... Damn, I'm far from home. How far did I walk!? Oh well, I still have some smoke left to get me back.

Magnificent Winter Smoke
Well the 2026 storm is here! Or is it? Where the hell is it? All this prep and somebody decides to show up late. Screw it, I'm puttin on my bibs & peacoat and braving these low teens while this "storm" takes it good ol time. This 3 ½" slice of dark chocolate cake had a spice punch right from the get go and mellowed out after about 10min and slowly became more and more like dessert. Strong, spicy in the beginning and full of espresso throughout. The retrohale just kept giving those wonderful notes, dark chocolate & espresso, but there was something else. I couldn't put my finger on it, nutmeg or cedar, than some woody earthy notes came out. It was cold and things got confusing, but damn was it magnificent. I smoked it down to about a half inch. It wasn't good, it was delicious. Had a little Elijah Craig after and melted in my chair. Will I do it again? I'm buying the box of 20-25 and a new humidor just for them. Way to go Rocky🤘
Sutliff - 526 - Old Professor
I'm Not Crying You're Crying
I dont like probably 96% of Sutliff tobaccos. Nor do I have feelings of sadness. Well, Old Professor leaving us really gave me a feeling. I even think my eye got a little moist. Anyway its sad to see something go that you found outta some 200 tobaccos and now you're clinging on to the last 2oz like grim death. It reminded me of my grandfather and father, who actually was a Professor, and I enjoyed it so much I almost bought a tweed sports jacket with those leather elbow pads... You know what. I think I'll get that jacket. See ya around Professor.
Kramer's - House Aromatic 50g
Relaxing
Perfect strength for something before bed. Nice and light doesn't rush the body but still has taste to enjoy and just kinda zone out. The room note is on point for the smoker and the 1 or 2 people walking by your room who have to comment how wonderful it smells. Leaves a pleasant light English scent on the mustache if you have one.
Missouri Meerschaum - 150th Anniversary 1.75oz
Can't Believe It
I just got this yesterday, Christmas morning, and had no idea what the hell it was. I tried reading the tin, sounding letters out, even tried looking up "tin of tobacco with yellow label." Didn't work... I couldn't figure out how someone bought me tobacco with an amazing tin note to the point where I wanted to eat it. It's been 24 hours and my morning pipe is still sitting on the counter because I've smoked nothing but this weird nameless pipe tobacco that for some reason keeps on keeping on. I get a lot of vanilla, carmel some cocoa, Virginias and some type of stoved leaf. Absolutely beautiful tobacco. So to my surprise when I found out it was a low rating aromatic, 2-3-2, I just couldn't believe what kind of Christmas miracle this was to trap me in such a whirlwind of smoky goodness. I smoked this outside, in my basement, in the living room and in my bedroom and NO ONE said anything other than "what have you got there? What is that invigorating smell? Can I eat some?" So now I have to go back and order tins with similar ratings, as I've learned I get disappointed with these low rated tasting tobaccos, from some 3 years ago to see if I'm missing something. Give this a try. Merry Christmas
Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus 2oz
Old School
Is my cob ghosting me or is Pegasus really this good! Smooth and silky with small sips and big flavor. A touch of sweetness with woody notes and hints of cocoa and vanilla just enough to question if you just tasted a bit of cocoa and vanilla. Pegasus is what makes me want to dive into the mysteries of the Burley world.
Solani - Red Label - 131 50g
Memories Of Childhood
Wow, great smoke. A very familiar smell to it. It was very warm & inviting like rustic comfort with a charred spice that reminded me of Christmas. Kinda like a weak scent of church incense, but just a little & a woody burley taste with light cherry & chocolate. I loved that the tobacco was coming through and the topping was just right. Definitely got topping, but I also thought maybe there was a casing as well on the burley that just made it pop or maybe it was the Black Cavendish bringing everything to the front.
Mac Baren - Vanilla Flake 1.75oz
Oh Wow!
Finally got around to buying a tin of this highly spoken about flake and God Damn did it hit every note. Only had one bowl and that's really all it takes when a great tobacco comes into your mix.
Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Damn Good
This was soooooooooo good!! Although I was kinda disappointed that I wasn't getting any of the cinnamon or nutmeg that I heard so much about. Lot of searching going on as i take each puff to find that taste of sweets baking in my kitchen and permeating the air during the holidays. I was getting some chocolatyness in the beginning and definitely some spices from the Orientals and the Virginia's always pleasant. It's cold where I am so I'm wondering if I'm getting the whole spectrum. Not minty, but cool, a cool refreshing spice I'm thinking coming off the Orientals has a well rounded comfort about it. Nice and relaxing I stopped thinking about the complexities and simply started enjoying a great smoke. Room note was nice, no cookies in the kitchen, mustache note very pleasant through the day had me wanting more as I thought of Christmas. The taste, was just that of what you would imagine the treats of the holidays would be.
