Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Fathers, Friends & Fire Batch 005 English Aromatic 2oz
Pleasantly Surprised
It marries a rich aromatic and mild latakia very well. Not overbearing which I admit I was worried about when I took the initiative to put it in my cart. Whatever dank aroma they picked was a perfect choice for the leaf . Its not sticky or wet. It burned well and I all but finished the bowl completely in a 65$ Stanwell church warden. I said out loud to no one in the room but the Lord Jesus, 'Wow they really did something here'. I don't smoke aromatic all day. Maybe once every couple of days if that. But I felt like this deserved a review. I enjoyed it and I have another can in my cart right now.

Ridiculous.
Its absolutely ridiculous to be a paying customer who spends as much money as I do with Smokingpipes/C&D and that at least 1 tin isn't automatically reserved for customers who spend money in a certain tier. Especially something that is on a wishlist and is literally gone 2 hrs after hitting the market. A limit of 1 to 3 for the first day or two would be a better system. Or a subscription system. Idk. And then if you dont visit the site within a set time frame it goes back to the selling pool. Especially when you are certain that the Chinese Communist Party most assuredly bought them out for resale or just to make this 43 year old whine like a toddler. Three years waiting on a tobacco that is probably just another C&D one hit wonder that sits on the cellar shelf with the other one hit wonders. Yes I'm crying about it. Yes I'm aware there are other ways to vent about it. However its complete garbage that they don't make enough for the regular people that have jobs and don't sit glued to the Smokingpipes screen literally every minute. I get on here multiple times a day. And yet I'm still tinless. I feel better now that I've vented my simple minded rant as a keyboard warrior. Enjoy the most likely sub-par blend that's possibly overrated. I still cant give a valid opinion and I'm sorry if this review skews the ratings system. Better luck next year right? The rating may change once I try it. 2 tins came through the Straight of Hormuz. Thank God. I'll re-evaluate things in a couple of days folks. After receiving my 2 tins I give it a 5. It is worth the hype. But make more next time guys!

It had an interestingly unique flavor. I'd call it an aromatic. Upon opening the tin there was white mold growing on the outer edges of the tobacco. I probably should have returned it. I broke off the bits of mold and trashed them. I then broke down a portion of the seemingly harmless remains. I don't really know what to say about it because it was okay if you block out the thought of it having mold. Different is what I can say about it.

This cigar was very nice. I don't understand all the haters from the CCP. I do know that I was surprised at how smooth this fat cigar was.

Its literally the best in the industry. Along with Escudo and Mac Baren Navy Flake. And I've smoked everything that's anything. Gimmicks and classics. If Mac Baren Stockton was still a thing it would be number one in my list. This is my number one. The price is ass but it is literally the best.

Seattle Pipe Club - Mississippi River Special Reserve 2oz
Barely any Latakia.
I actually was quite surprised with this one. Im not a huge fan of Latakia and the tangy Virginia really shined through for me. I came back for more but too late apparently. Still waiting on Galloping Gertie. My favorite SPC blend.

Its one of the best Latakia blends if you enjoy that. But give me Galloping Gertie..You sold out of Hogshead too fast. I literally looked away from you for one day. Gone.

A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
So..no more Mac Baren Stockton huh?
When I did the research and found out that I was waiting for Stockton in vain because they've discontinued many Mac Baren blends and for some ignorant decision they decided they would get rid of the absolutely best pipe tobacco ever made. I shopped around and after numerous burnt runs I finally found one as close to the finest coins ever made. This blend is exceptional and smooth and super close to perfection. Look no further if you are looking for Stockton. This is what we have to settle on until the Scandinavians see the error in their decision to drop Stockton. May the Light of Christ shine on those who believe and let us be the Salt of the world the Lord asked us to be.

Even for an Aromatic
Very nice quality dry aromatic with some great quality leaf. Has an almost state fair caramel vibe.

Its a good solid Virginia. Nothing fancy. Easy to smoke. But to be honest I was expecting a little something more out of Per. Waiting on the aromatic. But at least I got a couple of the other blends for the 3 days it was available. Give me Pipe Force: NextGeneration, No Latakia per Justin please Per. Unrelated. Ok. After sipping on a smaller pipe this Virginia is actually more complex than my first review. Gonna knock it up to a 5.

Rattray's - Year of the Dragon 100g
Very addictive.
Im not an everyday aromatic smoker. I was pleasantly surprised at how I kept reaching back for more of this blend. Not excited about the price of the tin but the tobacco itself was very delicious.

I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable an aromatic can be. Very good limited edition blends.

HU - Director's Cut 100g
Say what?
$40.? It's a pretty basic blend. I almost bought another tin since these morons are still putting Latakia in every possibly decent blend which ruins it. Or making everything else an aromatic for PawsPaws who don't know anything better than a Captain Black scent. Then $40 for 3.5 ounces. Dude.. What happened to Steamworks or Stockton or the non Latakia Pipe Force? I mean cmon with the dumb stuff man.

I've smoked a wide variety of tobacco and this is a daily affordable smoke that to me is almost reminiscent of a lighter Stockton or Three Nuns. It's got the nicotine content and flavor that keeps you reaching for your pipe through the day.

It's by far what you are truly looking for in quality tobacco with no gimmicks and only 6000 available. Thank God for His blessings. My cup runneth over.

Enough with the endless Latakia blends. I saw Jeremy Reeves and trusted that it was not another Latakia festival. Look how does Latakia not overpower and ruin most perfect blends. No wonder it was on sale. Feel pretty ripped off. And I read descriptions. Wouldn't have bothered if it was in the description. If you love Latakia you'll love another one of these Oh we made too much Latakia crap and now we gotta find a way sell it in 12 different tins. Not happy.
