About This Cigar

eros ever made, IMO. I've also enjoyed the two en cedros varieties, in the corona gorda size, and an honest-to-god 6.5 x44 Lonsdale. Even as the trend goes towards thicker cigars, corona gordas are still a somewhat popular size, and worth keeping around for those of us who appreciate them. But a 6.5 x 44 Lonsdale? Maybe I'm wrong, but is there a less popular size today? Only a few degenerates who like thinner cigars and tradition might miss it, and let's be honest, we're not a huge market.
This one is delicious. The Pepin spice upfront isn't as shocking as it was 20 years ago, but it's still very welcome. There is a bready flavor that's not uncommon with MF cigars, but like the lancero, I feel like this one adds some sweet cream and a touch of stone fruit. It maintains a decent amount of spice throughout the cigar that always kept me engaged. It's just a marvelous cigar, and one that will last an easy 90 minutes with a moderate pace. I was working, so the one I smoked for this review lasted a little over 2 hours. And look at that price. Under $10 for a single here at SP. So the value is also hard to beat.
Highly recommended. If you've never tried a lonsdale, or think it might NOT be the size for you, I suggest giving this one a try. While I've tried to put aside my biases and started smoking some thicker cigars (and enjoying a number of them), I still think there's a place for lonsdales. An elegant size that combines some of the concentrated flavor of a lanceros, but without it feeling a bit weird in the hand, or finicky to smoke (you almost have to sip cigars with RGs of 40 or less or they can get bitter and harsh too quickly). You can pretty much smoke a Lonsdale like any cigar up to a 52-54 RG without it turning funky or harsh. And it comes with the badass cedar sleeve too!...Read More
