About This Pipe
Yep, there's no mistaking this one for anything but a Werner Mummert pipe. I mean, yes, sure, there are a few others out there making quite sharp and modern takes on the Bulldog shape... but bead-lined and colorfully striped from top to bottom, and ending in a lavender-colored stem? Even Chris Askwith hasn't done that yet. From Werner I've learned to take this kind of thing in stride. He is the only artisan I can say that about. As difficult as his pipes can at times be to describe, in a way I'm happy just knowing that Werner Mummert exists; he makes the world of pipes that much stranger, and therefore that much more interesting.
