About This Pipe
The Acorn is a pretty familiar shape from Lasse Skovgaard. We've seen countless renditions over the years, and all of them different from the last. What we haven't seen, however, is one that's perfectly straight and streamlined — Lasse, as a rule, seeming to prefer those deeply bent renditions that allow his signature curling gesture of shank and stem to really shine. That was until today. This tall-rimmed, oval-shanked Acorn is the exception, pairing the lofty, Egg-like bowl to a broad, oval shank and a short throw saddle stem with an interesting spur centered along the base. It's at once both jaunty and curvaceous, cutting a striking profile yet fitting quite comfortably in the hand. And as with all of Lasse's sandblasted pieces, you can expect one beautiful display of ring grain.
