Smooth Standing Fig with Horn (Signature) Tobacco Pipe

Scott Klein really excels at these spherical, well-rounded numbers, be they Apples, Acorns, Tomatoes, or more freehand oriented designs like his signature Blowfish, or, as we see here, the Fig. At first glance, it would seem that Scott's taken inspiration from Adam Davidson's own signature design, yet he's really turned it thoroughly on its head. literally.

By positioning the foot along the heel of the bowl rather than just below the base, Scott's transformed this design into a dramatic sitter — it sits perfectly perched with its shank and stem kicked high in the air. He's also trimmed down the proportions slightly — shaping the transition a touch slimmer so as to accentuate both the plump nature of the budding bowl itself and the sinuous lines of the upward-flared horn ferrule. The result is a Fig unlike any other Fig we've received: a true Scott Klein "Signature."
