About This Pipe
We haven't seen too many pieces from Brad Pohlmann to feature bamboo. The last was decidedly more organic than this classic fellow here— a testament to the carver's shear artistic breadth. It's also befitting of his exacting standards, as both that naturalesque number and this straightforward classic made use of a series of honey-blonde knuckles operating in excellent rhythm with the composition at large. He's dressed the Group 1-2 sized bowl in a dark (and subtly warm) sandblasted texture, unveiling a phenomenal presentation of growth rings climbing up all flanks. At the other end of things, he's fitted the piece with a jet-black saddle stem, set with a stainless steel tenon for good measure.
