About This Pipe
Though Musico is an Italian marque, their pipes tend to hew closer to the Anglo-French carving style, though occasionally deviating with small, whimsical touches here and there. With its balanced build and compact proportions, this Rhodesian is a fitting example of Musico's slightly reserved style.
The bowl of this Rhodesian is quite trim, yet it still houses a respectable chamber within. The waist of the bowl is classically high-set, demarcated by a crisp ridgeline that lends the piece a touch of rigidity. The rest of the composition is quite fluid, with a gracefully bent and steadily tapering shank-and-stem arrangement flowing from the transition. The stummel wears a high-contrast, walnut stain and a smooth finish, both of which emphasize the briar's beautiful birdseye and close-knit cross grain.
