About This Pipe
This Li Zhesong design has a certain taut, vertical style to it — the extra-trim transition accentuating the bowl, and the bowl accentuating a directly vertical climb in its manner of taper, form, and posture. This is fitting. Specifically, this is fitting to the briar Li shaped it from, as that is some seriously righteous vertical grain, which is given both a very complementary pairing of lines, and plenty of room to stretch out and show off from base to rim.
