Partially Sandblasted Blowfish (Abbot) (A17) (18) Tobacco Pipe

The Blowfish is a shape of unending appeal and interest, each rendition completely different from any other, utilizing the grain to its best potential while presenting a shape that is mesmerizing in complexity. From every angle, it's a different pipe. Different surfaces each present their own individuality, but combine for a unified piece. For texture, this pipe displays sandblast surfaces on the right side and remnants of plateau on the left. The sandblasted sections are birdseye, leaving an almost rusticated look. On two different planes, the sandblasted sections work together in teardrop shapes and soothing curves. The plateau on the left is just right, offering just a hint of the craggy natural surface, surrounded by birdseye. The underside ridge offers fine grain from the shank end all the way up and across the top and back down the top of the shank, angling onto the end of the shank and continuing around in an unending asymmetrical loop. Comfortable, compact and almost infinitely interesting, this is a pipe for communing with smoke and nature.
