About This Pipe

Defined by a singular, swooping motion in profile, this succinct bent Dublin from Jody Davis is rather understated for the carver's body of work, but no less impressive in its own right. Foregoing his oft-employed teardrop ridge, Jody instead opted for a cleanly-shorn panel, leading the eye from mount to rim at the right flank, and allowing for a stunning display of red walnut-stained cross-grain to ride continuously through the transition before terminating that the smooth-stained rim. The remainder of the stummel wears a lovely, dark-stained sandblast, showcasing no shortage of blasted birdseye, and complemented by the warm, speckled pattern of a mount made from stellar's sea cow bone. A rich, dark shade of cumberland makes for a pleasant pairing at the stem.
