Partially Sandblasted Rhodesian Tobacco Pipe

If there's one thing at which Ken Dederichs excels, it's this style of crisp line work, designed to maximize the grain of a given block of briar. This Rhodesian is fairly modern in its execution, displaying a lens-shaped shank end and strong forward cant to its bowl, the long teardrop lines of its shank creating a broad expanse at the base of the piece. And that expanse is brilliantly used, highlighting an entire sea of smooth-polished and contrast-stained birdseye along its long sweep, while the rest of the stummel has been dressed in a dark sandblast to contrast. It's excellent work, and a piece that deserves note.
