Partially Rusticated Dubliner with Boxwood (Silver) Tobacco Pipe

The Dubliner is a shape we've seen from Peter Heding a number of times over the years, yet no two have been exactly the same. Ranging from Magnum-sized Dublin/Lovat hybrids to sharp-lined, Bulldog-esque numbers, to more sweeping Horn-like renditions, Dubliner itself almost seems to be more of a theme than a strict shape type, granting Peter a lot of freedom in his executions from one pipe to the next.

Here in this rusticated iteration, for example, we find a much tighter-knit and more powerful style overall, with a stronger forward cant to the bowl, a firmer sense of line along the edges of its various panels, and a more abbreviated, upward curling style of shank. It all works quite well together, creating an almost bundled up sense of potential energy in profile — as if at any moment it might just spring forward, racing to its next destination.
