About This Pipe
Max Rimensi's particular style of pipe making is often hard to define in one simple term since the Italian carver's versatility and artistry allows him to move easily from one design school to another. Classic shapes, organic designs and eclectic pieces are all part of his portfolio and all are pointedly functional and superbly engineered. This Cherrywood embraces a particularly organic aesthetic. The tall, cylindrical bowl displays a compelling forward cant and features an angled rim and flattened base that allows it to sit. Three knuckles of bamboo extend the shank, lending a natural character, with a slender, tapering jet-black stem adding contrast. Wearing one of Max's rugged, contrast-stained sandblasts, this pipe offers a gentle, slender disposition with plenty of chamber depth and handsome ripples of ring grain from the bowl's base to rim.
