About This Pipe
Though very much a svelte, lean design, this bent Egg still nonetheless balances Hans "Former" Nielsen's penchant for easy-flowing linework and stout muscularity. Said muscularity is very slight, as just when the eye and hand start to take note of the supple, pronounced curvature of the bowl's flanks, it gives way to a sprawling, lithe trail of shank and stem. I quite like how Former has approached the stemwork in this case, complementing that forward-reaching gesture at the bowl and rim with a lifting half-saddle, as if all that perfectly stacked ring-grain was leading you to it all along. And perhaps it is.
