About This Pipe
It's been quite some time since we've received a straight Bulldog from Hans "Former" Nielsen — the last, by our records, appeared some time during the first half of 2009. That previous example was quite a different form altogether as well, featuring a strongly tapered, Dublin-esque bowl set to a strong forward cant and followed by comparatively sleek oval shank. Here, however, we find something much closer to the Danish classic interpretation of the shape — featuring a bowl that's more spherical than Dublin-esque, with its bead-lines set just a touch high of center, and a streamlined, elongated diamond shank and saddle stem. Finished in a smooth polish and high-contrast stain, it allows these clean lines to stand all even more, while showcasing some impressive flame grain flickering up around the entire stummel.
