Smooth Meerscham Tomato with Horn (C) Tobacco Pipe

A low and bulbous Tomato from Max Rimensi, this piece is an unusual submission from Il Duca, being meerschaum rather than the briar and morta renditions most often seen. The underside of the shank curves upward to meet the long, striated accent of horn, beautifully contrasting both the pale meerschaum bowl and the jet-black, tapered stem. The slightest of bends in the stem offer an almost Prince-like aesthetic, maintaining a long and slender profile. The bowl is smooth and organically rounded, with a soft waistline and domed rim for a composition that is graceful and visually appealing.
