This Erotique Nefertiti design draws inspiration from two of pipe making's most revered and influential carvers: Sixten Ivarsson and Jørn Micke, specifically their Nefertiti and Erotique shapes. Ivarsson's Nefertiti design is a particular Dublin iteration defined by slender proportions and a flaring bowl whose heel drops below the shank's bottom line. Micke's Erotique design is typically a rounded, Tomato-like form marked by a central crease dividing the bowl for a distinctly anatomical aspect.

For this pipe, Asteriou has fused design elements from both of these historic shapes, his creative process having imagined Ivarsson and Micke collaborating on a pipe together. The Nefertiti remains the foundation for this shape, with its trim elegance and refined lines forming the silhouette, while the Erotique's characteristic crease marks the rim. This channel divides the rim into two lip-like aspects, and it's canted off of the shank's central line to add a touch of accenting asymmetry to the composition.
