About This Pipe
Though perhaps not as dramatic as some iterations we've seen from him, this bent Dublin from Benni Jorgensen still showcases the Danish carver's signature handling of shanks and transitions — allowing them both to follow a clean, seamless arcing gesture, initiated by the bowl's heel and completed by the subtle undulation to the mortise face. While certainly making for a striking silhouette, this style of deep, sweeping transition and shank actually affords the piece a much more natural, comfortable feel in hand. A great feat, as you'll be spending plenty of time with it cradled in the palm while appreciating all of this block's gorgeous grain.
