About This Pipe

Three generations of craftsmanship are carried on through Becker pipes, with Federico Becker currently acting as the guiding hand behind the workshop founded by his grandfather. Becker stands unique among other Italian workshops, their signature style defined by lithe, lightweight proportions as opposed to the more hearty compositions of the neoclassical variety, though influence from the latter is evident in their portfolio's subtle yet palpable emphasis on the bowl, as seen in this bent Billiard rendition. Dynamic in profile, the composition features a tall, forward-ebbing bowl positioned at the front, with its slim walls showing a gentle curve as they travel from the jutting, ridgeline-wrapped heel toward the flat rim. Said heel carries a sweeping curve through the underside and into the shank, which lifts out of the transition from the bowl and joins to a willowy stretch of tapered stem, the arrangement promoting a comfortable smoking posture and accentuating the momentum of the design. A crisp, walnut-stained sandblast dresses the stummel and reveals waves of growth rings wrapping around the bowl, the briar's smoky complexion handsomely complemented by the rich, variegated hues of the cumberland stem.
