About This Pipe
While Chris Askwith's striking Weathered Bone finish is typically applied to pale briar, the talented artisan does also produce the treatment in a variety of more vivid and saturated color palettes. Among those, we've seen everything from crimson red to eggplant purple, yet this is the first piece we've received wearing this a blue finish: a mix of liberty and Yale blue for the briar and a darker, deeper midnight for the polyester mouthpiece. This particular Apple shape also features a touch of extra length to the shank compared to the other Apples also featured in this update, which actually gives it the most muscular look of the three.
