About This Pipe
When Adam Davidson fashions a pipe, functionalism is an inherent priority, and it's an aspect he deftly executes alongside balanced and beautiful shaping. With a degree in Industrial Design from Purdue University, Adam enjoys exploring the relationship between aesthetics and function, much like the Danish Functionalist movement that has inspired a number of Danish pipe makers, architects, and furniture designers. This Billiard sums up Adam's appreciation for functionalism: It's a straightforward, no-nonsense Billiard that he even went so far to call a "Workhorse Billiard."
Like his signature Lorraine shape, this piece is lightweight, compact, and features a mount-style stem configuration. However, this piece strips off any accenting flourishes and breaks the idea of a pipe down to its bare essentials: briar and vulcanite. Those two materials and only those two materials comprise this Davidson Billiard, and it's a piece designed to withstand the rigors of everyday life — dressed in a dark sandblast to hide any handling marks it might accrue over the years and imbued with just the right amount of muscularity to be substantial in hand.
