About This Pipe
A Montana native and the man behind Yeti pipes, Micah Cryder became fascinated with pipe making after smoking a pipe for the first time in high school. His passion for the craft became intense and all encompassing, and he eventually quit his barista job and left university to pursue pipe making full-time. He's now one of America's premier pipe makers, garnering considerable praise for his unique shaping style, handsome finishing work, and mind-boggling attention to detail.
Like many Cryder pipes, this piece is incredibly compact, measuring less than five inches from bowl to bit. Even given its reduced size, however, this piece boasts some robust dimensions and a palpable muscularity that's evident across both the bowl and shank. Said bowl flares from its firm heel to its broad rim, which is crowned in a ridge of rugged plateau that adds a touch of organicism and texture to the form. A gorgeous, honey-hued smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights fine tendrils of flame grain that streak across all sides of the bowl. A vibrant stem of blue Bakelite completes the ensemble and adds a touch of striking color to the shape's profile and palette.
