About This Pipe
The man behind Yeti pipes is Montana native Micah "Yeti" Cryder, who credits much of his development as a pipe maker to personal mentorship from Premal Chheda. A whole-hearted aspirant to the American shaping school, Yeti's pipes display an array of design cues and clear Danish influence. This bent Apple, then, displays a plump bowl with a high waist, a lifted heel, and a rim with both craggy plateau and a smooth, chamfered inner edge.
Yeti displays his skill in the blasting cabinet here, with a well-executed, medium profile tanblast, accentuating superb growth rings around the bowl. The round shank smooths subtly as it approaches a crowning accent of brass, setting the stage nicely for the caramel and cream hues of a hand-cut Bakelite saddle stem. The entire arrangement comes in at a very pocket-friendly four-and-a-half inches in length, making for an excellent pipe ready to go places.
