About This Pipe
Indonesian artisan Wandi Riyadi excels at handcrafting sculptural, avant-garde pipes of the utmost precision. Though he still honors traditional pipe shapes, Riyadi's style pushes the boundaries of pipe design, creating modern and highly individual interpretations of established shapes while also crafting entirely unique forms all his own. This Rhodesian exemplifies the carver's crafting prowess and creative artistry. As if cut by a jeweler, the entire pipe is decorated in crisp facets to outline the shape with a diamond-like motif. Even despite the Rhodesian's characteristically tapered rim and demarcated ridgeline, Riyadi maintained a consistently paneled motif that continues down through the pointed heel and through the shank and its creamy horn accent. Only the hand-cut vulcanite stem remains facet free. The stummel appears more cut from stone or marble than briar, but stunning grain covers the bowl in a rich contrast stain
