About This Pipe

As one might expect for someone who grew up around pipe making, Tine Balleby has an innate understanding of what makes a pipe both beautiful and functional, and she excels at crafting traditional pipes through her personal creative lens. The bent Apple is a shape we've seen Balleby craft a number of times in the past, and it's easy to see why when considering this particular iteration: It offers her an opportunity to showcase her impeccable understanding of line and curve. Take the bowl for example: a nearly perfectly sphere composed of walls that taper ever-so-softly to a narrow rim. Or the shank: which cradles the aforementioned bowl, extending into the heel, and sweeps toward the aft with a taper that's accentuated by crisp ridgelines. Of course, being a Tine pipe, this piece also boasts exceptional grain, with tight tendrils of flame grain covering the bowl, and a stylish accent: a pearly white mammoth band at the junction.
