About This Pipe
The Outlaw series consists of two shapes: the "140" Rhodesian and the "141" Devil Anse. Presented here is the "141," a compact Devil Anse featuring a softly rounded, Egg-like bowl positioned at a slight forward cant. Despite its short length, the bowl still houses a chamber of respectable dimensions, making for a petite pipe that doesn't sacrifice tobacco capacity. This particular example is dressed in a smooth, smoky grey finish, with a trim metal band to accent.
Similar to the Scottish marque's Misfit line, the Outlaw series from Rattray's presents lightweight, Nosewarmer designs that are easily slipped into a pocket when traveling. Where the two lines differ are in their stems: The Misfit displays a single bore mouthpiece, hearkening to mouthpiece designs of the late 1800s and early 1900s while the Outlaw features a more traditional, fishtail bit.
-Truett SmithNote: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.
