About This Pipe

One of the most popular designs in Missouri Meerschaum's line of more sizable, filter-compatible corncobs, the Country Gentleman features an extra-large, barrel-shaped bowl. Available in both straight and bent configurations, it's an affordable, accessible means of enjoying your favorite blends or trying something new. Available here in the natural, "naked" finish.

Note: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.

One of the best cobs out there.

Product: Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman Natural Bent (6mm)
The Country Gentleman is one of those pipes that makes you wonder why people spend hundreds on briars. It’s big, sturdy, and smokes like a dream. If you only own one cob, this should probably be it.

The bowl is generous—about an inch and a half deep—so you can pack it for a long, slow smoke.
It feels solid in the hand, and the dark stain gives it a rustic look that sets it apart from the lighter cobs. Like all Missouri Meerschaums, it’s built with a hardwood plug in the bottom, which means you don’t have to worry about burning through.

Where it really shines is in the smoke itself. Cobs have a way of keeping things cool and dry, and this one is no exception. It doesn’t ghost, either, so your tobacco tastes like your tobacco, not whatever you smoked last week. For breaking in a new blend or just relaxing outside, it’s hard to beat.

Now, it’s not perfect. The stock plastic stem feels cheap compared to acrylic or vulcanite, and most folks eventually swap it out. And because these are handmade, no two look exactly alike—rims might chip, the color might vary. Personally, I think that adds to the charm.

At under twenty bucks, it’s an easy recommendation. The Country Gentleman isn’t flashy, but it’s dependable, forgiving, and always ready to go. It’s the kind of pipe that quietly becomes your everyday favorite.

Slightly bigger than county gentleman

Product: Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman Natural Bent (6mm)
Country gentleman is my favorite cob. Solid grip, generous chamber and reliable for heavy duty daily use.
This natural version is however somehow better. It turns reddish after I accidentally dip it in alcohol, slightly bigger than country gentleman and also able withstand rough daily use
