Cornell & Diehl - Manhattan Afternoon 2oz
Too young
This tin dated 10th of July 2025. Not bad, nothing fancy. It just need some more time. A buy now smoke later category.

Cornell & Diehl - Fires on the Levee 2oz
Blazing fire hot
Gimme fuel gimme fire gimme that which I desire.

Peterson - Royal Yacht 50g
Excellent
Light topping. I'm not sure what it's but I'm not into it. After a light, it's tastes amazing and the strength is awesome. I'm so going to buy more and cellar them

Arango - Balkan Supreme
Nothing special
Unfortunately I bought 4oz. Nothing special, nothing fancy.

Warped - The Red Hunt 2oz
Definitely aromatic
This smells like fruit alcohol. Not sure what fruit it is , with maybe a faint chocolate smells. Should label this as aromatic family not Virginia. No indication saying it's going to smell like this . Unfortunately I bought 3 tins. Deng!

Half and Half - Half and Half 1.5oz
Not bad
Smells almost like Carter hall, slightly stronger than Cartel Hall. It bites a bit, just a bit. I'll need to dry them to not getting bite and to decrease the aromatic smells. Not bad, but id rather go for Cartel Hall

G. L. Pease - Fillmore 2oz
Awesome
If you like Sunday picnic, you might also like this

Cornell & Diehl - Dark Burley
Totally blending based
I'm a big fan of Burley. This one is strong, good nicotine hit with very Burley as it is. Good for blending. Can't do this on a daily basis Home blending then!

Sutliff - J4 - Burley
Selamat tinggal Sutliff
Good bye Sutliff. You'll not be forgetten

Cornell & Diehl - Virginia Flake
Sweet Virginia, but
Sweet, tangy. Sip it please or it'll bite. I'll go for bright Virginia if I want to smoke straight. This one yes good for blending

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
Thank you The HP
I'm writing this to show my appreciation for The HP’s 101 Blends Project — it’s really helped me decide which blends are actually worth trying. I noticed that The HP uses a Missouri Meerschaum Pride cob and I smoke with cobs for so long that I don't remember where are my briars. In the past, I used to rely on Smokingpipes’ star ratings when choosing blends — and honestly, I disagreed with about half of them. But when I started following The HP’s reviews, I found that I agree with him about 80–90% of the time, especially for non-English blends. When he gives a blend 5 stars, I know it’s worth buying a full pound even without sampling. Thank you, HP — you're the man! Now, about the Bayou Morning Flake I have: I’ve cellared nine tins from 2019 and 2020. I just opened a 2020 tin, and here’s my take: It’s a VaPer blend, aged for about five years. The tin was a little bloated. Upon opening, I got sweet, fermented fruit notes with a touch of sour vinegar. The tobacco is mostly dark, even darker than a recent bulk batch I purchased. It was just slightly dry, but perfect for smoking. In the bowl, it’s mellow, smooth, and doesn’t bite the tongue. The flavor feels more pronounced than the ribbon cut version. This is a blend you really should try in both fresh and aged forms, and compare flake vs ribbon to see the difference. A truly wonderful, no-regret blend — whether you buy it fresh or aged, in bulk or tins, ribbon or flake.

Missouri Meerschaum - Zenon Bent (6mm)
Great
My go-to pipe for English and Balkan blends. The stem were not glued to the bowl properly, I then need to separate and glue it back again. The same thing happens with my wooden poker. Works well after reglue. Just don't push the stem into the bowl too hard. Update There are 2 hairline cracks that getting longer to the bottom of the bowl.

Missouri Meerschaum - Pony Express
Good one
Picked up a few small Chinese cobs, but this one’s bigger and the bowl is much better. I’m using a bent unfiltered stem — gives a drier, smoother smoke.

Missouri Meerschaum - Morgan Natural
Works well
Picked up a few small Chinese cob pipes, but this one’s bigger and the bowl is much better. I’m using a bent unfiltered stem — gives a drier, smoother smoke.

Missouri Meerschaum - Legend 5th Avenue Bent (6mm)
Good one
It's similar to Pride, but this one with maybe plastersine, or Paris plaster on its outer bowl.

Missouri Meerschaum - Iconic Legend Bent (6mm)
white stem yeay
This pipe works really well. I love the white stem — looks cool and feels nice. Great for a quick, easy smoke.

Missouri Meerschaum - MacArthur 5-Star Natural Straight
Awesome classic pipe
A great value pipe if you're after a long stem and a generous chamber. The MacArthur 5-Star really stands out — it looks impressive, with a massive bowl that turns heads every time you light up. It can also fits a 6mm filter. If you intend to use medico filter, you need to cut it a bit. For something more practical, the Ray offers a simplified version of the MacArthur design. Please noted that macarthur bent & the ray are with maybe 3' of chamber depth, while this one with 2' depth.

Missouri Meerschaum - The Ray
Practical simplified version of macarthur
A Great value pipe if you're after a long stem and a generous chamber. The MacArthur 5-Star really stands out — it looks impressive, with a massive bowl that turns heads every time you light up. For something more practical, the Ray offers a simplified version of the MacArthur design. And yes you can use 6mm filter

Missouri Meerschaum - Imperial Blue Hardwood Apple Bent
Excellent
Beautiful stem, spacious bowl and yes this one can fit a 6mm filter

Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz
Better than haunted bookshop
picked this up after seeing a few solid reviews here and there. The Burley is crisp — not too wet, not too dry. You get that typical tangy note from the Virginia and Perique combination. It’s got a pleasant cocoa aroma, nutty flavor, and a solid upper-medium nicotine hit. Honestly, it’s a big step up from Haunted Bookshop.

Old German Clay - Basic Briar Medium Billiard Churchwarden with Aluminum (9mm)
My first churchwarden
Basic briar as it is. Reasonable price, Lightweight. It serves it purpose. Reliable.Good for beginner. If you're into work art, good finishing, high quality grade of briar go for a higher segment.

Missouri Meerschaum - Country Gentleman Natural Bent (6mm)
Slightly bigger than county gentleman
Country gentleman is my favorite cob. Solid grip, generous chamber and reliable for heavy duty daily use. This natural version is however somehow better. It turns reddish after I accidentally dip it in alcohol, slightly bigger than country gentleman and also able withstand rough daily use Worth every penny!

Cornell & Diehl - XXV Reserve: Dusk 2oz
Stop overthinking. Just get them.
The great thing about this release? It’s an anniversary edition — not your usual small batch that pops up again in a year like a bad sequel. Some folks will grab 15 tins a day like they're stocking up for the tobacco apocalypse. Others will hoard them like treasure, never lighting a single bowl — just admiring their tin fortresses. Me? I’ll grab a few, smoke one fresh, and hope I’m still kicking when it’s time to crack open the next. So stop overthinking — grab some while your wallet still agrees with you. Future-you will thank you. Or at least nod approvingly from the cellar

Cornell & Diehl - XXV Reserve: Dawn 2oz
10000 tins to go
Hot cakes. 10000 tins to go. Cellaring C&D tins is half the fun — especially when the tins start puffing up like little aging balloons. That’s usually the Virginias doing their magic. This one’s a straight Virginia, so don’t be surprised if the tin looks like it’s been hitting the gym after a year or two. Trust me, it’ll age beautifully. This is a once-in-a-lifetime drop. Blink and it’s gone — so grab it super fast, or you’ll be stuck watching someone else post theirs in 2030 while you cry into your empty jar.

Sir Walter Raleigh - Regular 7oz
Cellar them
I bought a pouch some time ago. It had a sour smell and a sharp bite. Tried it again a few days ago — the sourness had faded, and the bite was gone. It just needed time.

Peterson - Connoisseur's Choice 50g
Smells good .
More like a perfume. Keeps mosquitoes and moths away. People around you might be happy for the aromatic notes. Tastes nothing

Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
Not bad
It's an ok smoke. But it's too wet that after 2 years the tin got rusticated but manageable. Best to enjoy this ASAP. I Won't buy this again

Sutliff - TS-20 Louisiana Perique
Nice
I somehow hate the smell. Pungent! But it tastes so good. Never not that strong so enjoy them without worrying of getting nicotine induced. And thank you Sutliff for that free 5' length of 4mm hemp rope in my 8oz bulk, how I wish I could smoke it

McConnell - Maduro 50g
Worst
Molasses with hint of rum. Low strength of nicotine. It bites real hard. Straight Virginia cased with brown sugar are way more better than this. Terrible. Worst

Carter Hall - Carter Hall 14oz
Not bad
Just good enough to be my daily smokes. Ill go for Prince Albert which is a bit stronger

Old German Clay - Tavern Belge (Black)
Almost perfect!
My first black clay pipe. I Paint the tip for about 1' with Matt clay varnish (2 layers). I further wrap the center of the pipe with 2mm hemp rope. Voila! Fragile, please be careful. Buy 2 or more just in case you drop it.

Old German Clay - Tavern Belge
Awesome
My first clay pipe. I Paint the tip for about 1 1/2' with acrylic paint (3 layers) and with Matt clay varnish (2 layers). I further wrap the center of the pipe with 2mm hemp rope. Voila! Fragile, please be careful. Buy 2 or more just in case you drop it.

Cornell & Diehl - Kajun Kake 2oz
Fantastic
Open up a 2020 tin last month, Nothing fancy. Had a bowl after a month, and Deng! Voila! Easily dried. Just do not dry them up too long.

Books - Arturo Fuente: Since 1912
Seriously ?
It's ok. 1200 for a book are way better than losing at a blackjack table

Missouri Meerschaum - Missouri Pride Bent (6mm)
Functional & practical
Technically I can get the same shape from China at 1/2 of the price, but with different quality. This true original MM are way better in quality, functional, practical and long lasting.

Davidoff - Flake Medallions 50g
Bold
A 2024 tin. Bold. Lots of black Cavendish perhaps. Not memorable but no regrets.

Cornell & Diehl - Red Carpet 2oz
Perfect
I'm currently in vaper mode. This one satisfies me most Full flavor with right level of nicotine. Tin dated 25/09/2024, mellow enough with no bite. but unfortunately no 8oz and above available

Missouri Meerschaum - Boone Bent (6mm)
Very happy anyway
I'm so happy with the generous chamber inner diameter & depth. 4.5 stars as even you can insert a medico filter easily, you need to cut it a bit. So for this one I'll cut my medico into two

Orlik - Golden Sliced 100g
My favourite vaper!
Very sweet indeed with just a hint of Perique. Smooth, no bite at all

Daughters & Ryan - Windsail Platinum 16oz
Sweet, smooth & mellow
Low strength, sweet, smooth, mellow yet satisfacting. Best daughters & Ryan straight virginia I rolled them!

Cornell & Diehl - Kelly's Coin 2oz
Good blend
Burley yes with strong notes of black Cavendish. Smooth yet strong. Had a bowl and i hit my perfect nicotine level needed. End up having 3 bowls in a row. Awesome! Quite strong i warned ya.

Filters & Adaptors - Savinelli 6mm Filters - Balsa (300 Pack)
Works great
Absorb moisture really well. Fits well into my mm cob even better than medico.

A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Good one but not memorable
Currently opening a 2023 tin. With so much of good reviews, now is the time. Mellow, smooth, fermented fruits and without a bite. Not memorable but no regrets. Id rather go for peter stokebye, or bayou morning yes.

Missouri Meerschaum - Country Gentleman Bent (6mm)
My most used
Spacious. Large bowl. Sturdy.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop 2oz
Average Joe

Cornell & Diehl - Yorktown

Cornell & Diehl - Sunday Picnic 8oz
All time favorite
I’m not really a pipe smoker before. Back in 2018, i tried a few aromatics and Virginia, but got really bad tongue bite. After that, I gave up and just smoked cigars. In 2023, I went to a cigar shop, and they convinced me to buy one bloated tin of Sunday Picnic they still had. I didn’t plan to buy it, but after some time, I just gave it a try. It was my first time trying anything from Cornell & Diehl. When I opened the tin, it made a loud pop like a shotgun. The smell was amazing—very sweet and fruity, like something fermented. I really liked it. After a few puffs, I fell in love. It was so sweet and smooth, I almost felt like I wanted to eat it. After that, I managed to find maybe 10–15 more bloated tins from other places and smoked half of them happily. Recently, I bought some fresh ones. The tobacco is not as dark as in the bloated tins, and the taste is not as sweet or mellow. There is a unique smell, maybe from the Orientals, but not as strong like before. Even though I usually like strong tobacco with high nicotine, Sunday Picnic is still my number one favorite. I really hope they will make it in 16oz or bulk someday.

Captain Earle's - Stimulus Package 2oz
Latakia bomb
Extra latakia. If you going for strength, go for 10 russians.

Robust Latakia blend, full bodied with medium nicotine hit. If you love Latakia you going to love this.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Small Batch Freja & Loki 2oz
