Sandblasted Dublin with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe

Irish artisan Austin Quinlan hails from Dublin, where he uses his background in pipe restoration to produce functional pieces that combine impressive engineering with aesthetics. Most of his pipes fall within the standard Anglo-French shape-chart, but Quinlan is also known to occasionally venture into the realm of Danish and Japanese shapes. Measuring slightly over four and a half inches in length, this Dublin approaches Nosewarmer length, though the depth of its tobacco chamber ensures you don't sacrifice smoking time. Up front, the walls of the bowl rise from a firm heel and flare toward a subtle domed rim that looks into the aforementioned chamber. The transition gives way to a rounded shank that stretches to quickly meet an accent of boxwood at its base, adding a color contrast to the otherwise dark pipe. A petite vulcanite saddle stem brings up the rear, its inky hue matching the dark stain of the sandblasted stummel.
