About This Pipe
Abe's managed to make this Forrestiana rendition both more complex and more tightly-knit than the previous iteration of the form we received from him, and I'm not complaining. Though the Cavalier-like foot terminates more abruptly past the bowl in profile, Abe has supplemented it with a longer extension of rich, dark cumberland, and shifted the orientation of the base to complement that of the asymmetrical bowl. Finished in a dark, stimulating sandblast, further emphasizing the shape's organic disposition, rings of rippling grain ride each of the bulbous flanks. Going one further, Abe's accented each end of the stummel with trim, wafer-thin regions of smooth-polished briar, making for a handsome complement to the darker overall composition. Very interesting work here.
