About This Pipe Tobacco

Pineapple & Spice w/ a backbone

I'm new to pipe tobacco, not to flavor, so I'm probably not calibrated to common flavor descriptors, and certainly have a lot to learn about leaf types, but here are my first impressions. Tin note is a strong yet balanced barbecue/leather fragrance. When smoking, I get a tangy note that reminds me of pineapple. As you smoke the spice sets in and the Latakia weaves its way in and out, but not dominant--just enough to remind you that it would be nice to be in a room full of books. It provides a nice smooth backbone to the smoke. Even less present, but nice when it surfaces of the macadamia/hazelnut. If you like VaPers but want to Branch out to something a little different, this one will not disappoint. It's a very cohesive and balanced mix. It did not WOW me and it may be a little intense for some as an all day smoke, but I would return when the craving for a cigarette hits and be satisfied....Read More

Light, grassy and - yes - lemony leaves which burn smoothly and easily. The tobacco it contains is all Virginia and it is mildly flavored with Lemon and honey.

Just had my first bowl of this blend... smoked in a (new to me!) meerschaum estate pipe from SmokingPipes. Nice cool smoke; about 2 hours with some relights. I'm not as perceptive on tastes as many of y'all. I found plenty of taste of dried fruits together with the smoky taste of the Latakia and the orientals. Loved it!...Read More

Good and bad

I’m really torn on this stuff. I got an 8 ounce tin. The first half was incredible. One of my favorite tacos ever. However, the second half was terrible. So terrible that it has been about a year and a half maybe two years and I still haven’t finished it or honestly even tried to. But the variance in taste was within a week. Tried switching pipes at no avail. I don’t know take that for what you will just hope you get the good half....Read More

A beautifully balanced oriental mixture

Another GL Pease blend which is made in a classic British style. The burly softens this and seems to give the latakia a cool faint sweetness. There is no heavy charcoal taste here.
When I read the term "balkan", I think Balkan Sobranie Original mixture.
And this DOES remind me of the 1980s version I knew well.
I dry this tobacco and smoke with 9mm filters.
